Office for Life, Peace and Justice

The San Diego Walk for Life car caravan has been postponed to Saturday, January 30th at 1:00 pm.  See Bishop McElroy's statement below, in English and Spanish.

“With deepest regret we must postpone the car caravan for the March for Life celebration until January 30 th at 1:00 p.m.  Given the violence in Pacific Beach last weekend, I spoke directly with the San Diego Police Department and asked if they could provide assurance that the caravan could proceed this Saturday without complicating efforts to maintain peace there in light of the political demonstrations planned in front of the County Administration Center for this Saturday.    The Police Department felt that it could not provide such an assurance, and thus out of concern for the caravan participants and a desire not to make the job of our police any harder in these troubling days, I feel we must postpone the event.

I am so grateful for the tremendous work that the planning committee has done in expanding our March for Life celebrations this year to include webinars, a concert, and three Masses throughout San Diego County, so that even amidst the pandemic we can witness powerfully to the moral and legal rights of unborn children and the suffering of pregnant women in our midst.”
             -- Bishop Robert W. McElroy.

         -- Obispo Robert W. McElroy

Welcome Fr. Dominic! ¡Bievenido P. Dominic!

Fr. Dominic is a native of Ghana, West Africa. He was ordained in 2004 for the Diocese of Sunyani in Ghana. After his ordination, he worked for a short time at the Diocese at Christ the King Cathedral and then he was the first chaplain of Notre Dame Girls High School for almost seven years. In the U.S., Father Dominic served two parishes in the Archdiocese of New York as well as in the Diocese of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Since January, 2020 when Fr. Dominic came to the Diocese of San Diego, he has served as Hospital Chaplain to hospitals in the South Bay enclave while in residence in Most Precious Blood, with Father Silverio, and Saint Pius X Churches in Chula Vista

Fr. Dominic loves his football--both kinds. For traditional soccer, he is crazy about Manchester United in the U.K., and for American football, he loves the New York Giants. He doubts that will change now that he lives in California.

He enjoys listening to music and his favorite movies include: Men of Honor, Pay it Forward, Great Debaters, A walk to Remember, To Sir with Love and the timeless classic The Sound of Music.

Most of all, he loves talking to people, especially his parishioners, and getting to know them. He lives by the following motto: Do your BEST, and leave the REST to God.

Le gusta escuchar música y sus películas favoritas incluyen: Men of Honor, Pay it Forward, Great Debaters, A walk to Remember, To Sir with Love y el clásico atemporal The Sound of Music.
