Sacristans and Arts & Environment Ministry

Sacristans help set up for the daily Mass and on occasion for Sunday. Duties include: turning on the lights and microphones, preparing the altar, credence table and the lecturn. After the Mass all items are to be returned to there proper place in the sacristy, lights and mics are to be turned off and the church building is to be secured. The Sacristan may also be called to assist at baptisms, weddings, and funerals as needed.
Sacristans must be practicing Catholics who attend Mass every Sunday and receive the Eucharist. It is also necessary to have a full understanding of the Liturgy of the Word and of the Eucharist. Those interested in serving in this ministry, please contact the rectory office 619-264-3165.
